New unit upgrades: Prestage and pretest everything at our data center, before delivery to yours. For new unit upgrades IBM ships your mainframe to our ServerAssure center, where we run a full range of operability, microcode verification, diagnostic and configuration tests. Then we restore a backup of your existing system to your new CPU, and preintegrate your system with your applications, network connections and channel-attached peripheral devices. (Our ServerAssure Center is fully equipped with IBM System z servers, storage servers, tape drives, peripherals and more — so we can duplicate your infrastructure for a flawless integration.) You’re free to conduct your own unlimited acceptance tests — remotely, or in person — and to verify that all third-party authorization keys are functional. Finally we arrive on-site to train your staff, and to implement your new CPU for a smooth and event-free cutover.
