For over 43 years, PSR has been supporting, consulting, assisting, selling, and advising clients at every stage in their System Z journey. Commitment to Training Future Mainframe Experts
Along with Senior Systems Programmers, PSR wants to hire at the entry-level, so we are seeking applicants that are recent college graduates, as well as interns. That’s why we plan to expand our pool of qualified candidates by exploring opportunities to train potential employees and mentor them.
We aim to build relationships with universities and colleges where we could develop education programs to send candidates for z/OS training at our expense. PSR plans to identify and recruit candidates through Handshake, a leading way for college students to find jobs and internships.
IBM Z Global Skills Accelerator Program
As part of our commitment to training future mainframe experts, PSR is encouraging new hires and current employees to participate in the IBM Z Global Skills Accelerator Program. Participants in the Global Skills Accelerator Program gain the skills needed to work as Mainframe Systems Administrators, Application Developers, and Modernization Architects. The Accelerator Program combines 300+ hours of learning, on-the-job training, mentoring, and coaching, helping 140+ employers across the world build a sustainable workforce for IBM Z. Learning is conducted and supported by IBM Program Managers, Subject Matter Experts (SMEs), and Success Coaches. Some courses are offered on IBM Z Xplore, a challenged-based interactive platform, and 700 hours of self-paced content is available on the Mainframe Skills Depot.

All our employees attend Z Stack Spotlight Calls. All Sales and Solution Architects attend the worldwide Z Quarterly Calls and the Americas Z Channel Quarterly Calls. Quarterly Opportunity Forums with Z Channels ensure our employees understand programs and can identify what is and isn’t working. We attend Share mainframe user group meetings, and our executives participate in the annual Business Partner Integrity Training.
PSR employees make a focused effort to obtain IBM Z-related badges and complete all the associated coursework for these badges, including the recent IBM Z Expertise Badge.
